The Glasgow Woodworking Club is located within the Penilee Community Centre, 10 Gledoch Rd Glasgow, G52 4BD
The club workshop has an excellent selection of woodworking machines available for members who are competent in their use.
These include woodturning lathes; band saws; table saw; drills; sanding machinery and many other tools and machines to carry out all aspects of woodworking.
Those who are not familiar with woodworking machinery and wish to learn to use them can be shown how to use them safely by our more experienced members. Although the club does not provide woodworking training, we are all here to help members learn the correct way to work the machines.
In addition to the powered equipment, the club has a large selection of hand tools available for members to use.
Whether you wish to build a simple bird box or feeder; craft bespoke furniture or carve yourself a new hobby. The Glasgow Woodworking Club is a great place to get involved in woodworking as a hobby.
The first premises of the club was in Linnburn Road and there are records of our first A.G.M. on 1st February 1982.
In 1993 the club moved to the present premises in the Community Centre in Gleddoch Road where we have remained ever since.
The Glasgow Woodworking Club is for woodworking as a hobby, we cannot provide industry training, nor can we support commercial enterprises.
Most members make woodwork projects for family and friends but if items are made within the club to be sold, then all proceeds must be donated to club funds. Many members like to create projects that are sold in this way; it allows a variety of projects to be built without members homes being overfilled with their work!
Of course the material costs for items being built for sale which benefit the club are normally covered by club funds.
